Default Exporting samples to text files - Multi-channel sounds

**Multi-channel Waveform views, Spectrogram Slice views, Selection Spectrum views, Correlation views**

These samples be exported to either 1) a single file using multiple columns, or 2) multiple files. Raven will suggest that samples from these views be exported to a single text file containing the sample values of each channel in its own column. Alternately, include the channel template <cc> in the file name to export samples as single columns of sample values in multiple files. The channel template provides the option of including an updated channel number in the file name of the newly generated file(s). If channel template is chosen, a text file for each channel will be written, named with the appropriate channel numbers respectively.

In these cases of 2-dimensional data, each channel’s sample values in a multi-channel sound are represented by a separate column in a single text file.

**Spectrogram views, Beamogram views**

Spectrogram and beamogram views contain multi-dimensional samples. For instance, a spectrogram view, at any specific point in time, contains a set of frequencies, each with its own power value. Multi-channel files of this kind must be exported to multiple files. A channel template, <cc>, will be included in the suggested filename. If the channel template is deleted, the export process will not be allowed to continue.

In these cases of multi-dimensional data, each channel’s sample values in a multi-channel sound are represented by a separate exported text file

**Exporting Samples from a Subset of Channels**

To export a subset of channels of a multi-channel file, select those channels by clicking, ctrl-clicking (Windows), or command-clicking (Mac OS X) to the right of the channel number in the Channels panel of the Layout side panel. Alternately, ctrl-click on the narrow, vertical, view selection button(s) to select channels. The selected channel’s side panel entry and view selection button will be displayed yellow.
Choose File > Export “Sound <x>” <selected view> Samples… etc.
