Opening short mp3 sound files crashes Raven Lite

i have Raven Lite open. When trying to open short (less than a minute) mp3 files, Raven suddenly closes. I have tried it numerous times, always with the same results. This has happened to me in the past once before. It corrected itself without intervention. Now it's starting up again. Any ideas what could be causing it? I am running Vista.
